Announcement: [July 2021] The new Engine Change Tool

  Dear Customer,

The ECS (Engine Change Submittal) tool is a self-reporting tool used by airline operators to advise CFM when engines are removed from, and/or installed onto airplanes in their fleet. Accurate record-keeping of which engine is installed in a certain position on an aircraft is critical to ensure the engine flight data received and processed by the diagnostics monitoring tools is attributed to the correct engine.

Currently, ECS is accessed via the Links widget. On July 21, this tool will be replaced with an updated version of the tool which is integrated within the Engine Profile widget. The new Engine Change feature will become active on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at which time the current ECS tool (via the Links widget) will be turned off.

The new Engine Change feature of the Engine Profile widget will expand upon the current ECS tool's scope by allowing you to report engine changes for all of the CFM engines in your fleet, not just the ones that are covered by a diagnostics monitoring contract. Reporting all engine changes will improve record-keeping and help the engine manufacturer collect more in-service information across an entire engine model fleet so learnings may be leveraged to support all operators of the engine model.

The changes you submit through this new process will be reflected in the portal’s top navigation and within the Engine Profile widget’s Engine Change feature within approximately 4 hours or less, allowing time for the changes to be replicated across back-end systems that feed the portal. For more details on how to use the new Engine Change feature, please visit the Engine Profile - Engine Change Tool section of the FAQs.

Questions about, or issues you experience with the new Engine Change feature of the Engine Profile widget may be submitted via the Portal’s Inquiry feature, which will create a case for CSC/Fleet Support to investigate and follow up with you.

Thank You,
