What changes are coming to the CNR Process?

CFM will be modifying the CNR processes & procedure to ensure compliance with the ICA requirements and extend the scope of analytics in engine maintenance.

Two new classifications of CNR will be created (A & B):
Class A:
• Used if published Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) is not available to manage the subject issue
• Can provide supplementary maintenance recommendations until published ICA created/updated to address the issue
• Will include OEM Summarizing confirmed findings to Agencies
• Typically only new, emerging issues without ICA

Class B:
• General health and diagnostics monitoring recommendations that refer to existing ICA
• Majority of CNRs

Priority Definitions will be updated for understanding
• Critical --> Level 1
• Urgent --> Level 2
• Normal --> Level 3
